TOKYO CHEETAHS LAST EMPLOYMENT

I would like to present one of my portable black and white TV's. It is an old fashioned looking telly named TOKYO CHEETAH from the early seventies. It doesn't work anymore. I often work with trashy equipment and technical waste.

Let me describe how this piece is working. I've made a video from the surface of that telly, while showing nothing but "grain". This tape I will send to Lejre. They have to show that tape via VCR and a colour TV. The tape is without sound, people can watch on that video-installation only the flickering picture tube. The running time is 90 minutes.

The noise of that flickering transmission I will tape separately. This audio-installation will be heard at the kitchen in Hannover. It's a kind of rustle with little variations. The running time is 90 minutes.

In Selfoss the TV itself will be shown. The telly should be put on a sockle in the middle of the garden, so people can see it right from the street. It is important, to start the exhibition at the same time in the evening.
