On Sunday June
9th 2002 Gunnhildur Una Jonsdottir opened her exhibition SPACEMAN
in GUK+.
Gunnhildur Una
has made four works that all are connected. In the Korridor in Hannover
Gunnhildur Una exhibits a life size drawing of the russian cosmonaut
Yuri Gagarin in his spaceship Vostok1. From a radio in the Korridor
guests can hear a recording from the Soviet National Radio on April
12th 1961. In the garden in Selfoss, Iceland, guests are offered
to defy gravity for a moment and on the screen of the laptop computer
one can play the computer game SPACEMAN. On the day of the opening
a skydiver in a spacesuit landed safely on a field close to the
location in Lejre, Denmark. The spacesuit remains in Lejre for viewing
throughout the exhibition time.
The exhibition
continues until August 25th, entry is free and everyone is welcome.
