"I'll find my way home"

The exhibition bears the name of a song, which is the source of inspiration behind it. "I'll find my way home"

In 1981 Jon and Vangelis published their second album, "Friends of Mister Cairo"ā and the first song, "Ill Find My Way Home", became very popular - surely some will still recall it. Destiny made sure a cassette version of the album came into the hands of Markus and it has been of great fun to him, consolation, meditation and inspiration ever since. The song previously mentioned is a part of a series of exhibitions he has been working on in the past year and climaxes in the GUK+ show.

In a performance in Paris last fall he sang the song "‡ capella" with a trembling voice but in the end the gallery was trembling with the joint singing of audience and fellow artists. The song has mystical powers and so does the lyrics.

Different parts of the GUK+ exhibition will each bear a different subtitle from the lyrics. In KŸche guests will be able to sing along to an instrumental version of the song in "Talk Will Alter Your Prayer". In Udhus "You Ask Me Where to Begin" is a video of the artist performing to the song. On GUK+«s laptop "All Seasons Begin With You"ā invite the viewer to meditate on the text and in Garšur there will be a constructive installation named "Iāll Say it Starts at the End". Please click on the photos below to enlarge them.

With this exhibition Markus ends his compulsive work around this song and in the future he plans to turn towards song number two on the album "State of Independence", which is without a doubt very challenging.
